Hey guys,
I hope everyone had a very Happy Holidays! I celebrate Christmas so Merry Christmas to any of you who do as well. We just had a nice little low-key family Christmas and it was wonderful!
After Christmas sales are starting and they always get me thinking about the amount of STUFF I have. I am a sucker for a good sale and have this compulsion that if I don't get it now I may never get the chance again... I also somehow feel like I am winning over the company by getting that great sale, but in reality I am just getting sucked in. I do have more than a lot of people and I don't really NEED anything. Sometimes I think I feel that if I just get that one more thing, then I will finally be satisfied, but that isn't what life is really about. Since moving into a small Charleston townhouse I have been forced to face my shopping addiction full on, and it is overwhelming when you take a step back and look at all you have. Also, if you ever think you need more clothes go do your laundry for the week and you'll realize you have enough!
So in conclusion to these long ramblings, I am going to make a conscious effort to not spend on unnecessary items for a month. Obviously food is a necessity so I can't cut out spending entirely, but I want to instead focus on being grateful for all I do have, instead of seeking the next big sale.
What are y'all thoughts on the amount of STUFF we manage to accumulate?
